Krav Maga helps local grad student fight off a knife attacker!

I was on campus after 1am on a weekday, so Hillsborough was pretty deserted. A scraggly kid that asked me if I had any cash I could spare. I said no. A few minutes later I was cutting through a dark lot and heard footsteps behind me. I turned and saw him with a knife in his hand. I grabbed his right wrist with my left and pushed that hand down, lifted myself up and started punching him in the face with all the weight and force I had. He backpedaled and we both went down.

After a minute of grappling, we ended up both face down and I had him in a tight arm bar. I kept arching my back until he finally gave into the pain and dropped the knife. I scrambled up, grabbed the knife and backed away from the attacker, ready to keep fighting, but he was done. Cradling his elbow and screaming at me he ran into the night.

  • Krav Maga Raleigh has a number of great options for members who are new to martial arts, new to fitness, or managing prior or current injuries! No matter what, a great workout that is safe and challenging is within your reach! Do I need to be fit to do Krav Maga or Fitness training?

  • Quite the opposite! The vast majority of our members are "regular" people just like you! Men and Women who wish to find the healthiest or safest version of themselves. We want our jeans to fit a little bit better, our butts to look a little bit nicer, our stomach to be a little flatter... We want to have more energy throughout the day, be able to make healthy meal choices and ENJOY our daily lives without pain or struggle. Most of all, we want to have confidence outside our homes in these tense and uncertain times. No matter your goal, we have coaches who will make it their mission to help you achieve it.
